- EFL Championship
A lot of people describe the EFL Championship as the toughest league in the world, mainly because any club can get promoted or relegated. With teams like Fulham, Sheffield United, West Brom, Bournemouth, Reading, Nottingham Forest and Blackburn Rovers, you currently have a lot of teams that can fight for the promotion spots to the Premier League.
A lot of teams are very fun to use too and have a great history, including Queens Park Rangers, Stoke City, Nottingham Forest, Birmingham City, Hull City and many more.

- 2. Bundesliga
A league I’m currently playing in in FIFA22 Career Mode is the second Bundesliga, which is the second German division. As I’m using St. Pauli, who don’t have the best squad in the league, it’s quite tough to get promotion to the Bundesliga. With teams like Schalke 04, Werder Bremen, Hamburger SV, Fortuna Düsseldorf, Paderborn and many other teams that can surprise at any random time. I even missed out on direct promotion in my St. Pauli Career Mode and I lost the promotion playoffs against Stuttgart to stay another season in the second Bundesliga.
A lot of teams in the 2. Bundesliga have a good history, some fun players and all desperately want to get to the Bundesliga. Any team is a good choice to use in Career Mode and it’s just a very fun and competitive league to survive in!

- Premier League
Everyone knows how competitive and challenging the Premier League can be both in real life and in FIFA. It’s tough to win the Premier League with teams like Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool also fighting to become the league winners. Besides these teams, you have a lot of other good teams like Spurs, Arsenal, West Ham, Leicester City, Aston Villa and Wolves who you will first need to battle it out with for a European to mid-table spot.
As each club’s real stadium is in the game, alongside the real broadcast package, playing a Career Mode in the Premier League even feels quite realistic, also with the many gamefaces there are in the game. You can also combine a Career Mode in the Premier League by starting with a team in the Championship (which I mentioned before), get promoted and then play in the Premier League!

- Major League Soccer
Since the start of the MLS in 1996, there have been a lot of different winners of the MLS Cup. There have been short periods where certain teams dominated like Houston Dynamo and Los Angeles Galaxy, but that only lasted for 4 years. The last time the same team won the MLS Cup twice in a row was in 2012 with LA Galaxy, since there has been a different winner every year. This means the MLS is very competitive in real life, and so it is in FIFA too.
Unfortunately, there is no international success to be won in a Career Mode with a MLS team, but winning the MLS Cup surely makes up for a good challenge in itself. The MLS also has a lot of fun players and good teams to use in Career Mode too, such as Portland Timbers, Seattle Sounders, Orlando City, Inter Miami, DC United, Atlanta United, LA Galaxy, Los Angeles FC and New York Red Bulls.

- Liga Portugal
If you aren’t managing either Porto, Benfica or Sporting CP in your Career Mode, then Liga Portugal is actually a very fun and competitive league to play in. Mainly cause it’s a big step up from the other teams in the league, with most teams having far less quality in their squad. With Porto, Benfica and Sporting CP, there is a big three you will need to be able to compete with before actually winning the league.
You can use either FC Porto to try and re-enact the treble they did with Jose Mourinho as a manager in the 2003-04 season, or break Benfica’s curse by finally winning another European trophy (and winning Liga Portugal too of course).
