Years of overspending and playoff campaigns, has taken a toll on Derby County. The past two season have been especially turbulent with multiple failed takeover bids, an owner who wants to sell, financial issues, an underperforming squad nearly lead Derby to relegation last season. They only escaped on the final day. This season they have been issued a deduction of 12 points (with the possibility of more) and have entered administration. The future could be very bleak for The Rams and that is exactly why we made this Derby County challenge for FIFA22 Career Mode.
STORYLINE
Save Derby county’s immediate future by saving them from relegation into League 1, whilst vastly reducing outgoings and balancing the books back to profitability. Return Derby to former glory by returning them into a financially secure club and getting them back into the Premier League.
GOAL
Get The Rams back on a solid financial footing and eventually back to the pinnacle of English football. Build a squad reliant on academy products and run a profitable club.
RULES
- The Rams are currently under a transfer embargo in real life, so you can’t sign any players for a transfer fee for at least two seasons (4 windows)
- Lose your first four games of the season (to simulate the -12 points deduction). Lose another three in a row in November (to simulate the -9 points deduction). You can do this by playing the lowest rated players in your squad and use the quick sim option in game. Make sure you save your Career Mode before each of these matches so when you accidentally don’t lose one of these matches you can go back and redo the simulation until you have lost the match
- Only scout players in the UK
- Only sign free agent players under 5,000 per week for the first two seasons
- Generate £50million in player sales in the first season
- Keep the club running at a profit for the first two years (check the FINANCES tab in your Career Mode)
- You must always have at least five players in the first team under the age of 21
- You cannot have a squad larger than 25 players for the first two seasons
